Dental Implants
Dental implants are used in tooth replacement. In contrast to what many believe, dental implants are not the replacement teeth per se. They are cleverly engineered titanium screws used to support the actual tooth replacement, such as a cap (crown) or bridge.
Simply, an implant can be likened to an artificial tooth root, placed into the jawbone where a tooth has been lost. One or more implants can be used, depending on the size of the gap and the number of missing teeth. Implants can be a good option for patients who have lost a tooth due to an injury or extraction.
